Primary Internal Medicine Physician

We are seeking two Physicians to join our growing practice and continue our mission of delivering high-quality medical care to patients of all ages.


The Physician will provide comprehensive outpatient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment alongside experienced medical and administrative staff while building long-term patient relationships in a community-focused setting.


Requirements: 

  • Board-certified in family practice medicine or internal medicine. 
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Active Alabama medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and community health.


Referral Coordinator

Elberta Clinic is seeking a Full-Time Referral Coordinator.

  

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and processing patient referrals to specialists, diagnostic facilities, and other healthcare providers. This position ensures that all referral requests are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with clinic policies, insurance requirements, and patient confidentiality standards. This role serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and external offices, ensuring seamless communication and timely scheduling of care.


Summary of Duties:  

  • Manage incoming calls and voicemails, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Respond to patient and provider messages received through the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in a timely manner.
  • Document all actions to ensure staff and providers are aware of referral progress and approval information.
  • Process and respond to faxes from specialists related to patient referrals.
  • Prepare and send referrals on behalf of all clinic providers.
  • Obtain pre-authorization, if required, for the patient's treatment
  • Schedule referral appointments and notify patients with appointment details.
  • Submit orders for Cologuard, mammograms, and DEXA scans through appropriate online portals.
  • Enter and track insurance referrals using the TRICARE and BCBS websites.
  • Request and obtain office notes and supporting documentation from specialists.
  • Support insurance compliance by assisting with gap closure requirements for the practice.
  • Maintain consistent communication with nursing, providers, and patients regarding prior authorizations and referrals.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation and data entry protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and relevant state and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Provide backup coverage for front office phone lines as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area.


Requirements:

  • High School education or GED equivalent.   
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. 
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and insurance practices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor in all interactions with patients, family members, providers, office staff, and physician offices.
  • Handle confidential and protected health information (PHI) appropriately, understanding the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Good interpersonal and human relations skills are required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and present oneself in a calm, caring, and professional manner.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and patient care.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Front Office Representative

Elberta Clinic is seeking a Full-Time Front Office Representative

  

The Front Office Representative plays a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a high-volume family practice setting. This role involves greeting patients, managing appointments, and ensuring smooth front-desk operations while adhering to healthcare regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.


Summary of Duties:  

  • Greet all patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer and route phone calls, take accurate messages, and provide essential information to callers professionally.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments in accordance with operational standards and document appropriately. 
  • Assists with verifying the patient's status, whether new or existing.
  • Inform patients of clinic policies (e.g., no-shows, bringing all medications to each visit, insurance cards, etc.), obtain a contact telephone number, and verify insurance if applicable.
  • Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays and payments, if applicable.
  • Inform nurses of any unusual or unusual situations that require their attention, as noted in the admission information.
  • Prints all faxes needing signatures and directs them to the appropriate area.
  • Serves as a backup for anyone in the front office when needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
  • Release prescriptions to authorized individuals after obtaining the required signatures.
  • Keeps the supervisor informed of any issues or concerns that require attention.
  • Adhering to HIPAA guidelines.


Requirements:

  • High School education or GED equivalent.   
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of general office duties. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and thorough knowledge of HIPAA policies and procedures.


Medical Assistant

Elberta Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant.   


This position supports clinic patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and delivering a broad range of healthcare services. The Medical Assistant may also contribute to the training and guidance of clinical staff. As part of the patient care team, this position requires being mindful of the needs of both patients and their families.


Summary of Duties:

  • Provides comprehensive clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations.
  • Responsibilities include assisting with patient intake and medical history, preparing patients for exams, performing basic clinical procedures and point-of-care testing, and supporting providers during treatment. 
  • Maintains accurate patient documentation, processes forms and prior authorizations, and ensures compliance with HIPAA and safety standards. 
  • Responsible for maintaining exam rooms, managing supplies, and supporting overall clinic organization and workflow. 


Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), preferred.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated customer-first mindset and ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintain required competencies, and have reliable transportation.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
